Knitting socks with a difference – airy lace patterns and sophisticated cables Making your own knitted socks is fun: They're quick to knit, make excellent gifts, and you can try out lots of different things with a small knitting project. A wide variety of sock patterns and knitting techniques can be incorporated, and while you may have to fiddle with the pattern set a little the first time, you can consolidate what you've learned with the second sock. Anyone looking for very special knitting patterns for socks will find what they're looking for in this book: Finnish knitting designer Merja Ojanperä has put together 22 models with light and airy lace patterns, and some of the instructions also allow the socks to be knitted with cables. What's special about it: There are instructions for the three most common yarn weights. This means you can start knitting socks straight away with your favorite yarn and don't need a special brand of yarn.
22 sock patterns, divided into three yarn weights: Thin (400-420m/100g), Medium (225-270m/100g) or Thick (200m/100g)
Unusual designs from Finland: understated for fine lace knitting, sophisticated with integrated false braid or striking with cord or bobbles
Detailed knitting charts and written instructions: suitable for ambitious beginners or advanced knitters
Knitting lace patterns with sock yarn – a great start, especially for beginners. Lace knitting is also known as lace knitting, openwork knitting, or lace or openwork knitting. It's easier than it seems at first glance. Fine lace shawls are usually knitted with very thin yarn. Knitting lace patterns with sock yarn may therefore seem unusual at first glance, but it's often easier for beginners – and advanced knitters can progress very quickly with the slightly thicker yarn. For an extra challenge, some designs also offer the option of knitting a cable. This makes the patterns even more varied! Whether you're knitting socks or knee socks – you'll find what you're looking for in these Finnish designs! The "Magical Lace Socks" are divided not only by yarn weight, but also by the leg length of the socks. There are patterns for knee socks, regular socks, or even ankle socks – choose your favorite and start knitting socks!
