Emma Ball


Emma Ball ist eine englische Künstlerin aus Nottingham, die seit 2001 ihre Aquarelle in Produkte verwandelt — Notizbücher, Maßbänder, Projektbeutel, alles, was im Alltag bei der Hand sein soll. Ihre Tiere in Strickpullovern sind kleine Charakterstudien: das Schaf mit Brille, der Papageientaucher mit Zipfelmütze, die Katze mit dem Strickzeug zwischen den Pfoten. Wer strickt oder häkelt, erkennt sich in diesen Bildern wieder — die Liebe zu Wolle, Mustern und ruhiger Handarbeit ist in jeder Zeichnung spürbar. Heute arbeitet Emma mit einem kleinen Team und einer Reihe weiterer Künstlerinnen und Künstler, deren Arbeiten unter ihrem Namen erscheinen.
