In this workshop, we will delve into the fascinating world of fibers and teach you how to identify different types of fibers even without labeling.

During this masterclass workshop you will:

Fiber types and their properties : You will learn the differences between natural and synthetic fibers and discover how their specific properties influence textile production.

Fiber identification without labeling : We show you how to identify fibers even without labeling – useful knowledge to better assess the quality and origin of yarns and fabrics.

Practical exercises : Through practical exercises, you'll hone your fiber recognition skills. Soon, you'll be able to distinguish between different fiber types by touch, sight, smell, and other methods.

As a special bonus, you will receive a handout at the end of the workshop. This includes abbreviations for raw material trading relationships, care recommendations, and brief descriptions of the raw material properties.

Our renowned host, Natalia Lauen , is an Estonian and experienced tailor and pattern director. With her passion for the conscious and responsible use of textiles, she brings extensive knowledge in this field.

The workshop lasts approximately 1.5-2 hours.
To ensure a personal and interactive atmosphere, the number of participants is limited.
