The path to the perfect fit. Knit sweaters to your own body measurements. Adjust and redesign knitting patterns. Instructions for round yokes, saddle shoulders, or raglan.
Perfect fit instead of standard size – knit a sweater to your own body measurements Who hasn't been there: You see a great knitting pattern, the gauge is right, you start knitting – only to realize after many hours of knitting that the sweater doesn't fit after all. Knitting designer and fit mentor Claudia Eisenkolb solves this problem with her knitting book "Maßgestrickt": She explains what makes a perfectly fitting knitted sweater and how you can tell from the knitting pattern whether the sweater construction suits your figure. Step by step, she then shows you how to adapt knitting patterns to your own measurements – not just to your chest, waist, and hips, but also to your torso length, arms, and many other measurements that cause clothes to fit you sometimes less than perfectly and sometimes perfectly.
Finally a top that fits me!«: Claudia Eisenkolb's established knitting course is now finally available in book form!
Knit sweaters in one piece: All models are knitted from top to bottom (top down)
Five basic models as basic knitting patterns: Sweater with round yoke, saddle shoulder, raglan construction, contiguous shoulder or with set-in sleeve and armhole
After choosing the appropriate shoulder construction, the knitting instructions can be customized: You can knit the models with a tailored fit or as a straight sweater, and with a wide variety of sleeve variations.
Adapt or redesign a knitting pattern: Step by step to a perfectly fitting sweater Whether you prefer raglan knitting or a round yoke: With the tips and tricks in "Made to Measure" you can adapt every knitting pattern for a sweater to perfectly suit your own body. Although the basics in this book are explained using sweaters, they can also be applied to pullovers or cardigans. The "modular principle" of the instructions means that the basic models can be redesigned again and again with different design elements. Once you understand the basic principle, you'll never knit a sweater that doesn't fit! Whether you've only knitted a few sweaters before or have years of experience: In this knitting book you're guaranteed to find the right model and the right instructions for your taste and knitting level!
